Carlsbad woman accused of second degree murder

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) - A Carlsbad woman is facing murder charges. The Eddy County Sheriff's Office says on Thursday morning, they were called to a home on Burgundy Avenue.

There, deputies found 45-year-old Alberto Parraz dead with a gunshot wound.

After interviewing witnesses and conducting multiple search warrants, deputies arrested Ana Rodriguez in connection to Parraz's death.

The Sheriff's Office did not elaborate on what they believe led up to the shooting or how Parraz and Rodriguez may know each other.

Rodriguez is now being held at the Eddy County Detention Center on second-degree murder charges without bond.
