Authorities have identified a body discovered in the Pecos River.

Carlsbad Police responded to a call referencing a person submerged in the Pecos River Wednesday, February 27. Officials arrived at the scene to discover a male subject face down in the river.

The body was identified as Bradford Brazeal. His body has since been taken to the Office of the Medical Investigator for an autopsy. This investigation is ongoing.

On Monday, two days before Brazeal’s body was found, he was seen walking naked along Highway 285 near Grandi Road. Eddy County Sheriff’s deputies ended up taking him home that day. Earlier this year, Carlsbad Police say Brazeal was also walking naked along Pierce Street.

Anyone with any information regarding this case is asked to contact the Carlsbad Police Department’s Detective Division at (575)885-2111 ext 240.
