APD: Person of interest named in connection to bodies found at Sunport

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A person of interest has been named relating to the investigation of four bodies discovered in a vehicle parked at the Albuquerque Sunport last week. The Albuquerque Police Department said airport security found the bodies last Friday at the garage. Three of the victims had been reported missing out of Grants in January.

APD says reports from New Jersey say that 47-year-old Sean Lannon is a person of interest. According to court documents, Lannon is the ex-husband of one of the victims, Jennifer Lannon. Court documents show Sean Lannon was given custody of their three young children in 2019 citing several visits to Jennifer Lannon by CYFD. APD confirms Lannon is wanted for questioning and that he’s also wanted in connection with a murder in New Jersey Monday.

According to Gloucester County Prosecutors Office’s Chief of Detectives, Thomas Gilbert, Lannon knew the victim, a homeowner in his 60s. He said the killing of that individual was not a random act. Gilbert said Lannon is also wanted for a burglary and other crimes in Elk Township, about 20 minutes away from the homicide scene in Gloucester County.

The bodies of Jennifer Lannon, Jesten Mata, Matthew Miller, and Randal Apostalon were found Friday and investigators still haven’t determined how long they had been out there. This weekend, Grants Police also identified Daniel Lemos as a person of interest and they are still looking for him. According to Grants Police, Lemos knew Mata, Miller, and Jennifer. Lt. David Chavez also says Miller’s truck was found abandoned in Grants after Miller disappeared.

Authorities are still trying to figure out if and how Apostalon was connected to the other victims. Lt. Chavez said they believe Apostalon died later than the other three victims since his body was not as decomposed as theirs.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said it has received a lot of tips on Lannon but still is looking for him. He is considered armed and dangerous. The U.S. Marshal’s Service is offering a $5,000 leading to Lannon’s arrest.
