Albuquerque robbery suspect arrested following car chase

Crime

A failed McDonald’s drive-thru robbery led to a wild chase with deputies.

According to a criminal complaint, 27-year-old Angel Speed tried to rob the McDonald’s on Isleta and Rio Bravo in the South Valley on Friday.

Bernalillo County deputies later spotted him near Rio Bravo and Broadway and he took off.

Deputies say the chase spanned through the Isleta Pueblo, Bosque Farms and Los Lunas until the stolen car he was driving went airborne and crashed into a guard rail on Highway 45.

The state has filed a motion to keep Speed locked up until trial.

Speed also has a warrant in Valencia County for a domestic violence incident.
