Albuquerque Police have arrested an armed robbery suspect who claimed to have explosive devices.

Around 9 p.m. Saturday, police say 25-year-old Daniel Ramirez walked into the Circle K on Wyoming and Constitution.

Ramirez tried to rob the store by placing duffel bags on the counter, saying there was a bomb inside and that someone was holding his son hostage until he robbed the store.

Police later arrived on scene and arrested Ramirez.

Officers determined there was no threat with the duffel bags and that Ramirez’s son was safe.

He is being charged with robbery and for faking an explosive device.
