An Albuquerque man is facing embezzlement charges after police say he stole more than half a million dollars from his employer.
According to a criminal complaint, red flags began popping up at ABQ Injury Clinic after it failed to meet operational expenses three out of four months.
An internal investigation found Arturo Archuleta had been accepting checks from clients and depositing them into his own account.
When confronted, Archuleta admitted to pocketing more than $100,000 saying he had a rough year.
Police later learned he had stolen nearly $550,000 from the company.
According to court records, Archuleta was also charged in 2014 for a similar case, but charges were dismissed.
