A Tularosa couple first accused of animal abuse has been convicted of child abuse.
Police began investigating Alan and Sandra Quick more than two years ago after someone reported several emaciated dogs.
The couple owned K9 and Feline Assistance Program of Tularosa.
When deputies arrived they found dogs so malnourished they could barely walk, along with several dogs dead in crates.
Deputies also say that all the dogs had respiratory infections as a result of living among human and animal waste.
Thursday a jury found them guilty of six counts of child abuse.
They face 18 years when sentenced.
