Council votes to ban smoking on Santa Fe Plaza

News

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Smoking will no longer be allowed on Santa Fe’s Plaza.

The ban was originally proposed for just the Bandstand Music Series. This, after complaints last year of secondhand smoke.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the council voted to approve an amendment, which outlaws it year-round.

The ban only applies to the Plaza Park, which is defined as the grassy area and sidewalks, not the streets themselves.
