Community helps ENMU football player diagnosed with cancer


PORTALES, N.M. (KRQE) – A football player at a New Mexico college has been diagnosed with cancer and now the community is rallying behind him to help.

Elliot Peters was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer. Peters is halfway done with his senior year at Eastern New Mexico University, and was supposed to start his last season as a greyhound football player this fall.

People who know him, say Peters is a good student and is a friend to everyone. His wife started a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses, and has already raised more $8,000.
