Comedian responds to backlash over comments about Albuquerque

The comedian who bashed Albuquerque over social media is shedding more light on his comments.

Chris D’Elia performed earlier this month at the KiMo Theatre. Afterward, he took to Twitter, saying “I’ve been to some ****holes, but holy ****, you make Jacksonville look like paradise.”

Many New Mexicans criticized him on social media. D’Elia responded to the outcry saying he couldn’t believe the response.

“I was there for eight hours, twice. I’m sure it’s fine. How could you get upset about someone saying something like that?” he said.

D’Elia still didn’t reveal an exact reason for not liking Albuquerque, but he poked fun at KiMo Theatre’s name and said our buildings are short.
