Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials concerned over funding

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department could be facing some funding cuts and many are wondering how that will affect hunting and recreation.

According to the Durango Herald, the state legislature has killed a bill that would have allowed the parks to increase fees to help shore up their budget.

The agency, which over sees State Parks, hunting and fishing, says the financial situation is being compounded by a cut in funding from the feds.

The department says it’s looking for solutions that will not affect the public, but what that solution is remains unclear.
