A series of historic New Mexico court records that were set for auction will now be given back to the state.
The New Mexico Attorney General’s office intervened last week in an Arizona auction where a collector, Robert McCubbin, was set to sell documents from the 1880s.
The handwritten court documents are historic and one-of-a-kind.
Attorney General Hector Balderas’ office demanded the documents be returned to the state. The collector has since agreed to hand the documents over.
