The city of Clovis is working to clean up a growing plume of gasoline.
It’s underneath an old Allsup’s near Prince and Commerce Street. The Environment Department says it’s a result of an old underground storage tank leaking.
They say the leak can spread anywhere from 1 foot to 100 feet per year. The state has hired a contractor to clean it up.
The city wants to keep the public informed about the cleanup, so they are holding a public meeting on May 8. The contractor will be there to answer questions.
