A Clovis woman is behind bars after deputies say she severely neglected her horses.

Twila Williams was arrested this week for charges stemming back in August.

Curry County Deputies say they found eight horses on her property, all undernourished and without water.

One horse was also found dead.

Williams is now facing a charge of extreme cruelty to animals.

The state has taken custody of the horses.
