Clovis police arrest man accused of stabbing, killing woman

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – A Clovis man told police he murdered a woman Monday night because she was annoying him and he intended to kill again.

Police say 57-year-old Lorenzo Martinez called 911 Monday night saying he had killed someone. When they arrived, the found 57-year-old Mary Neal in his home, stabbed more than a dozen times.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by the Eastern New Mexico News, Martinez became annoyed at Neal and snapped. He went on to say he idolized serial killers, had homicidal thoughts and wanted to kill again.

Martinez said if police had not shown up, he was going to stab the next person he came in contact with. Martinez has three arrests in his past for disorderly conduct and battery on a peace officer.
