Clean drinking water depends on keeping the watershed healthy with a few easy tips

Watershed pollution can be prevented with a few simple steps.

The watershed is all around us. All of our drinking water originates from it, and in order to ensure it’s quality, it must be protected against pollution in the watersheds where it originates.

  • Proper disposal of household chemicals and batteries
  • Recycle yard waste
  • Pick up after pets
  • Drink from a reusable water bottle

The Water Authority is sponsoring a series of workshops called “Customer Conversations” in May that will address the importance of protecting the watersheds in which our local drinking water originates.

Customers will learn how government agencies collaborate to protect the watershed, and steps they can take to prevent watershed pollution. Customers who participate will get a $20 credit on their water bill!

Workshops are planned for each quadrant of the city (the evenings of May 1, May 8, May 16, and May 30). Seating is limited, so participants MUST sign up in advance on the Water Authority’s website.
