City scraps idea to close BioPark train

News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It looks like the zoo train is here to stay.

The city was considering pulling the train out of the BioPark and using shuttles instead to take people back and forth between the zoo and the aquarium.

With about three months left before the mayor leaves office, KRQE News 13 checked on the status of the train.

City officials say that proposal is off the table.

There was a public outcry to save the train, and the BioPark raised prices by $1 to help cover the costs.

The city is still working on the shuttle plan.
