City of Albuquerque offers cycle stops with freebies on Bike to Work Day


You can join people all over the country who are riding their bike to work Friday.

The city also has some perks for those who strap on their helmet and hop on their bike.

Bike to Work Day is held on the third Friday of May.

In Albuquerque, the city is enticing people to hop on their bike and head to work by offering free coffee, food, T-shirts and cycle gear.

The city says biking to work is a great way to stay healthy, avoid traffic and do something good for the environment. 

The city has more than 400 miles of bike paths and trails.

All of the bike to work cycle stops are along trails and bike paths in all parts of the city from Nob Hill, Downtown, Uptown and there are some over in Rio Rancho as well.

At the ABQ Biopark, people who stop by the Bosque Trail and Tingley “Ride In” will learn about endangered species and about the Biopark’s conservation programs. 

The cycle stops will open between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m.
