The city has followed through on its promise to help a woman and others get to an Albuquerque community center safety.
Back in February, KRQE News 13 told you about Rose Lilliequist. She has cerebral palsy and walking to the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center was a challenge.
There were no ground level curbs to let her get on the sidewalk and she was forced to walk into the busy street.
The city said they would look into the issue and Monday, there was a crew out fixing it.
“I’m just so happy it’s finally getting done,” Lilliequist said.
She says she can now feel safe when she goes line dancing at the center every Wednesday.
