An eyesore plaguing a Foothills neighborhood for the past couple of years has at last been demolished.
The home on Stutz Drive near Tramway and Lomas has been a vacant shell since a fire in 2016.
A year before that, the owner shot an intruder. Then, according to neighbors, became the target of harassment by the intruder’s friends.
The community has been lobbying the city to bulldoze the house for months, but the project was held up, partly because of funding issues, also to give the owner a chance to do it himself.
Tuesday, crews from the city finally tore it down.
KRQE News 13 reached out to the city to find out what’s next for the property, but have not heard back.
