A home in the International District is coming down as part of the city’s push to crack down on nuisance properties.
The property at 312 Wisconsin is a home that has been a problem for years.
Mayor Keller’s administration has put a big emphasis on red-tagging commercial properties, especially along Central.
Wednesday, the mayor wanted to show people the city is also putting more resources into tackling the problem in residential areas.
“We’re starting to track our metrics on this. We want to use this as a way to measure either progress or lack of progress in dealing with a lot of our underserved neighborhoods,” Mayor Keller said.
The home demolished Wednesday was flagged as a nuisance property two years ago under Mayor Berry.
A judge recently gave the go-ahead for the city to demolish it.
