City councilor proposes merger of Roswell’s high schools

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A Roswell city councilor says having two high schools has divided the city and now he’s asking for change.

According to the Roswell Daily Record, during a meeting last week City Councilor Savino Sanchez suggested a merger of Goddard and Roswell high schools.

Sanchez says the city is so divided it can’t work together on anything.

He cited a study and series of statistics saying combining the schools would save money and be logical.
