City council honors Albuquerque Officer Ryan Holets

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The city council honored Albuquerque Officer Ryan Holets and his wife, Rebecca.

In December, the couple adopted baby Hope from a homeless couple addicted to heroin.

President Donald Trump invited the Holets to the State of the Union address last week.

Monday night, councilors read a proclamation recognizing Officer Holets, saying he embodies the goodness of our nation.

“We didn’t do this with the thought that anybody would know about it, but now that people know about it it causes people to recognize the humanity of those who are suffering,” Officer Holets said.

Holets has started a GoFundMe page to help the couple stay clean after they complete rehab.
