Chris’ Thursday Night Forecast

News

Storm chances return to parts of New Mexico on Friday.   After a nice, warm day across the state some moisture will return to end the week.

Scattered showers and storms will favor central and western New Mexico on Friday afternoon.  The showers won’t be widespread, but the chance will be there for a few storms during the afternoon hours.

By the weekend, the attention will shift to high wind and high fire danger.   A storm system is going to track through Colorado.   This storm won’t bring much moisture, if any, to New Mexico.   So instead we will be dealing with wind gusts of 40-50 mph on Saturday afternoon.   The warm temperatures, drier conditions and high wind will elevate the fire danger for parts of the state.

By Sunday, the wind will settle some and temperatures will be slightly cooler with more sunshine to close out the weekend.
