Spot showers will continue for New Mexico this afternoon before we feel much warmer temperatures! Our storm system that produced showers over the past few days is now moving out the region and to the east. Behind the storm system, there will still be a chance for some left over spot showers across mainly the higher terrain of New Mexico. Tonight the showers will end and the skies will be clearing out.
By Friday afternoon, wind out of the southwest will help boost temperatures back to warmer, more seasonable highs to close out the week. Over the weekend, we will have to watch for the chance of showers and storms in far eastern New Mexico. That is where the dry line is going to set up and it could trigger some strong to severe storms along the New Mexico and Texas state line.
The storm chances push farther east into Texas by Sunday afternoon. The rest of New Mexico on Sunday will see more sunshine and warmer temperatures with stronger winds out of the southwest.
