ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Charges against one of the women accused of embezzling money from the Roswell High Cheerleader Booster Club have been dropped.

Roswell High parents became concerned last fall when numbers on the club’s bank statement weren’t adding up.

An investigation by the Chavez County Sheriff’s Office led to Deborah Perry and Kimberly Guerrero. The duo was accused of taking more than $20,000.

In January, the charges against Guerrero were dropped. According to online court documents, further discovery is necessary.

Perry’s trial is set for July.
