Charges have been dropped against an attorney arrested for assault.
Earlier this week a woman called police, saying her attorney, Mary Schmidt-Nowara, tried to kill her.
Police say the woman met Nowara at her home to collect settlement money, saying Nowara delayed paying her for months.
The woman told police during the meeting, the attorney pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger.
Nowara was arrested, but Wednesday the charges against her were dropped.
Prosecutors say they need more time to put the case together and will then refile charges.
