Ceremony honors New Mexico’s Vietnam veterans

News

Vietnam veterans were honored Wednesday during a special ceremony in Santa Fe.

Wednesday was the 50th anniversary commemoration of the Vietnam War, honoring the sacrifice and service of local veterans at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

The annual ceremony welcomes vets home from Vietnam after years of forgotten service.

It also reminds them of the brotherhood and support they can find in one another.

“I’ve been dedicated to helping veterans and I think this is another way to extend a healthy way to show that we’re still supporting them,”

The event included a pinning ceremony for all veterans in attendance.
