News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s Albuquerque Makers Week and it’s time to celebrate local makers in a big way.

The week is meant to introduce the community to the importance of not only collaboration, but entrepreneurism and STEM education. STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Makers are those of all ages and backgrounds that create anything and everything from 3D Printing, robots, gaming, coding, digital and electronic art, to crafting and design.

Currently, “Makers” are participating in the educational, hands-on activities, interactive, family friendly “faire” that focuses on innovation, STEM, art, toys, music and creativity.

“The ABQ Mini Maker Faire” begins Saturday, August 27 and end Sunday, August 28.

The event takes place at the Albuquerque Balloon Museum.
