CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – Farmers in Carlsbad should have plenty of water to grow their crops this year.
The Carlsbad Irrigation District has announced a full water allotment for the first time in four years.
Officials say water stored in four nearby reservoirs will allow farmers to flood-irrigate their fields at just over two-and-a-half inches deep per acre.
Farmers can order water as early as March 5, the bids begin at a minimum of $668.
