ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A food distribution company is breaking ground on a massive new warehouse.
Ben E. Keith is building a 260,000 square-foot facility on Albuquerque’s westside. The plant is near Unser and I-40, and will include kitchens to test products and more than 50 work stations.
The company jokes that the new facility is so big, the old warehouse would fit in the freezer of the new distribution center. As for the reason behind the expansion:
“They feel like this is a place where they can be successful, and that’s what we want businesses to feel…like this is a place where we can grow and expand, be profitable and prosperous,” Bernalillo County Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins said.
The new facility will be the headquarters for the New Mexico, southern Colorado and El Paso areas, and is set to bring nearly 100 new jobs.
