Students have resumed class after Manzano High School was evacuated following reports of fire or smoke on campus.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue states that as their units arrived, students were being evacuated and a “moderate amount of smoke” was coming out of a main building.

Officials say before AFR arrived at the school, a teacher was able to extinguish a fire in a trash can.

That teacher was treated for smoke inhalation.

No major damage was reported and the fire is under investigation.

No students were injured.
