Border Patrol agents issue warning about dangerous canals

News

EL PASO, Texas (KRQE) – Border Patrol agents near El Paso have had to perform some 60 swift water rescues in the last year and a half. Now they’re trying to make it clear just how dangerous the situation can be.

Agents say the water on top of the canal moves at about 10 miles per hour, but the water underneath can be more than 30 miles per hour.
