SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Parks are waiving fees on Black Friday and encouraging people to spend time at state parks.
All of the 34 state parks on Nov. 24 will be waiving the $5 day-use fee.
“Naturally, we want everyone to visit our State Parks every day, “State Parks Director Christy Tafoya said in a news release. “On November 24, we’re encouraging visitors to extend the family gathering beyond the Thanksgiving holiday table, get outdoors on Black Friday and visit a New Mexico State Park for free.”
Traditionally Balck Friday is known as a retail holiday, but park goers can take part in events such as “Stuffing Strut” hike at Cerrillos Hills State Park.
