Adults got to indulge in their animal instincts at the Albuquerque BioPark this weekend. The adults-only event, “Like an Animal”, took guests behind the scenes to get a sneak peek at the romantic rituals and strategies of animals.
The tour also included tapas-style appetizers at four animal exhibits. Zoo staff says despite the evening’s educational role, they always get a few curious questions. “Our elephants are very popular and our guests might encounter parts on the elephants that are very large so, that’s always a question. How long certain parts are,” said science education coordinator Audrey Lenzi.
The event also taught people about the zoo’s breeding plan which helps restore endangered animal populations all across the globe.
