Bill seeks to open New Mexico electricity market to competition

PNM could soon meet with two Democratic state lawmakers discussing their bill which would open up the state’s electricity market to competition.

According to The Santa Fe New Mexican, the Local Choice Energy Act, or Senate Bill 374, would give local communities control over who supplies their energy.

A spokesperson with PNM says they have already noticed several technical errors in the bill and intend to discuss them with the bill sponsors.
