DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – The Parks and Recreation Department in Durango has received a big donation to help children learn to swim.
Long-time member Walt Dear donated $10,000 to the Cristian Memorial Swim Fund last week. The program was set up after the drowning death of 6-year-old Cristian Korte in 2014.
The Memorial Fund helps low-income families who want to enroll their child into the program.
