ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico is in the spotlight Tuesday in the race for the White House.

Former presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders is here trying to clinch votes for his former rival Hillary Clinton.

Hundreds of people lined up this morning to be part of the rally at the University of New Mexico. Some of them still undecided voters who want to hear what Sanders has to say before deciding who to vote for.

According to UNM Student Activities Center, there were 2,500 people in attendance.

Others are already Hillary Clinton supporters, including 18-year-old James Campbell.

“I’m trying to get out there and support my candidate and make sure they are elected. Elections are so important, that’s the way of voicing your opinion and make sure we are heard. It’s getting the president in there that will represent us,” Campbell said.

Campbell says he hopes to hear more about the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs and foreign policy.
