Work is set to begin on the new Route 66 Visitors Center. This comes as the county has now selected a company to operate it.

The proposed venue will be built on Nine Mile Hill where visitors can see some of the best views in town. West Central Community Development Group was selected to carry out the design for the building. Funding for the project stands at $5.5 million.

The property will be developed in phases.
