The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s office says it will review documentation and record from Albuquerque Public Schools surrounding a  Cibola High School teacher accused in a racist incident.

APS announced this week it cut ties with the teacher who’s accused of cutting a Native American student’s hair, calling another Native American student a “bloody Indian”.

District Attorney spokesman Michael Patrick tells the Albuquerque Journal there was a meeting on November 30.

He says there was insufficient evidence to prosecute.

Patrick told the Journal the office was making its formal request to review “the complete incident in its entirety”.

Now, the district attorney’s office is looking to analyze the findings from the completed investigation.

Patrick says “there is a chance to continue an investigation after that review”.
