Bernalillo County commissioners have approved half a million dollars in funding for a new affordable housing project.
The funds will allow the nonprofit Bernalillo Affordable Housing to work hand-in-hand with a local developer.
Together the partners will build the Valle Del Rio Senior Apartments on Bridge Boulevard, just west of the river.
Residents eligible for senior housing can apply to live in the 58-unit complex.
The project’s construction will generate $15 million in economic impact including more than 100 new jobs.
