A New Mexico bald eagle has a second chance at life thanks to some lucky timing.
In January, a woman was hiking near La Mesilla when she found an eagle lying on the ground.
She took it to the New Mexico Wildlife Center near Espanola.
Hospital staff found it was exposed to an environmental toxin.
The eagle has bounced back and was able to return to the wild recently.
The Wildlife Center closed last November and reopened a month later, just in time for the eagle to be rehabilitated.
