Authorities on lookout for violent offenders, auto thieves during warrant roundup

You might see a surplus of deputies and officers around Albuquerque neighborhoods Thursday.

Deputies and Albuquerque police officers kicked off another warrant roundup.

Most individuals authorities are tracking are wanted for violent crimes and auto theft, however, deputies will also be on the hunt for repeat offenders.

“Doing face to face visits with business owners we’ll be looking at some of the areas we understand there are a lot of transient traffic in the area and our focus is to get some of those people who have not reported in for outstanding warrants accountable for not showing up for court and what have you,” said Sheriff Manny Gonzales.

Teams will also follow up on tips from the public.
