Attorney General Hector Balderas says he was not surprised with how quickly the jury reached a verdict.
“We knew that we were gonna focus on telling the story and that he lost his life in the line of duty and the jury ultimately believed that story,” said Balderas.
The attorney general says this is a case that deserved the best legal team and he’s very proud of their work. Balderas also says this case shows there will be justice if an officer is harmed or murdered in the line of duty.
In all, prosecutors questioned 45 witnesses.
