New funding will help Albuquerque Public School kids breath cleaner air while waiting for the bus.

It’s all thanks to a $4 million grant from the State Environment Department.

The district says the funds will pay for five diesel fueled buses to be replaced with ones that run on regular gasoline.

The funding stems from a study by the Coalition for Clean Air, that found kids regularly exposed to diesel exhaust have a higher risk of cancer.
