Students at a local elementary school made a donation to comfort kids in stressful situations.
The student council at Double Eagle Elementary School collected stuffed animals for the Albuquerque Police Department. Officers will carry the toys on patrol and give them out to scared and vulnerable children they encounter while on calls.
“I think it’s really nice cause every kid that’s like stuck in a car accident, they all will get stuffed animals. One will just be given to them and it will make their day much better,” said Jude, the vice president of student council.
In total, 1,300 teddy bears were donated to APD Wednesday morning.
