APD officers initiate over 9,000 traffic stops since Jan. 1

News

Albuquerque Police officers have been a lot busier over the last few months.

The Albuquerque Police Department says it initiated 9,560 stops between Jan. 1, and March 8.

In total, police made 5,522 stops in the same period last year.

APD says not only do these stops help get dangerous drivers off the roads, they also sometimes result in the arrest of people who had warrants.
