‘America’s Run For The Fallen’ stops in Albuquerque

News

There was a big tribute Thursday in Albuquerque to fallen soldiers.

America’s Run For The Fallen began in California last month.

The run honors the number of fallen military heroes.

Thursday is their 34th day and the group made a stop in Albuquerque.

Civilian Kristen Smith says the team runs roughly 50 miles a day, but for her, the physical sacrifice is worth it.

“To really let people know that we do remember and that freedom isn’t free and you know we’re here just showing people that we didn’t forget the lives that have been lost that have been given for this country,” Smith said.

Every lost hero has been attached to a specific mile and day.

The run will come to an end in August at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
