Albuquerque’s Alex Bregman helps local girl meet favorite baseball player

Hometown hero, Alex Bregman, has really hit it out of the park this time. He didn’t actually hit a home run, but this might be even better.

“I was so excited,” said 12-year-old Faith Kuhn.

Faith loves baseball. She grew up on it. For all of her 12 years she’s been cheering on her older brother from the sidelines and watching her dad, Chad Kuhn, coach him.

“It’s what the Kuhn’s are about, baseball,” said Kuhn.

Kuhn, who is the long-time head coach of Valley High’s baseball team, says several years ago they became family friends with, now, World Series Champion and Houston Astro, Alex Bregman.

Back in January, Bregman posted a video on Twitter for his nearly 200,000 followers to see. However, he really only needed one person to see it.

“I like #17, Kris Bryant. I think he’s really cute,” said Faith.

The Chicago Cubs third baseman caught Faith’s eye, but that isn’t the only thing she likes about him.

“He’s cute and he’s good too,” said Faith.

When Bregman posted the video in January. The Chicago Cubs twitter responded saying, “We’ll be in touch.” Nine months later, the Kuhns got a call.

“I get to go meet him this weekend,” said Faith.

The Cubs are flying the entire Kuhn family to Chicago and will watch Bryant play at Wrigley Field.

“It means like 100 percent, and I just want to thank ABA and Alex Bregman for this opportunity to meet him,” said Faith.

The Kuhn family will watch the Cubs play the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.
