ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – On Monday, two Albuquerque women pleaded guilty to mail theft and conspiracy charges.
Crystal Devon Romero, 33, and Michelle Josephine Candelaria, 25, were arrested in January by police.
A criminal complaint says they pried open cluster mail boxes and stole mail from them. Inside their truck, authorities found stolen mail including altered checks, plus debit and credit cards.
Romero and Candelaria could each face up to five years in prison.
